HIKING IN DENT D'OCHE
HIKING IN DENT D'OCHE
This full day trip focuses on finding the herds of wild Alpine Ibex living in the area of Dent d'Oche. We will also watch and photograph birds, as we will have good chances to see the Golden Eagle, Common Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, etc.
Located in Haute-Savoie, France, close to Lake Geneva, Dent d'Oche is a stunning mountain of the French Alps. The view is absolutely breathtaking. You can see Lake Geneva, the Jura and the Alps.
In this nature wonderland live good numbers of Alpine Ibex. We are able to encounter them almost every single time. Approaching them slowly and with respect, it is possible to have them coming only a few meters from us. This is an incredible wildlife experience.

Meeting in the morning at a parking lot located at the bottom of Dent d'Oche, we will hike up for about 1,5 hours to reach an area where we have good chances to spot our first Alpine Ibex. We will have a nice pique-nique and after that we will do a slow and respectful approach and spend as much time as possible with the Ibex. We will enjoy the wildlife and the view until sunset. Depending on the encounters and your motivation, going back down to the car will potentially done in the dark with a headlamp.
