RAPTORS OF THE WESTERN ALPS
RAPTORS OF THE WESTERN ALPS
Join us for a 5 day nature photography workshop looking for the most mythical diurnal raptors, exploring both the French & Swiss Alps.
This workshop is strictly limited to 2 participants maximum. Having a small group is key. We disturb less the animals we encounter, and we can give you more of my attention to help you improve your photography. Expect to wake up early and shoot until sunset. We will immerse ourselves in nature for as long as we can!
Between March and August. Choose your own date!
1400 CHF per participant.

Day 1 \ We will meet in Geneva where we will start our workshop with a sunrise walk along Lake Geneva followed by a trip to Marais de Sionnet. Black Kite, Common Kestrel, and Common Buzzard are the 3 species of raptors we are almost guaranteed to see. We will drive in the afternoon to the Canton of Valais.
Day 2 \ Early morning, we will start our quest for Bearded Vultures and Golden Eagles. We will then drive south to Chamonix area where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3 \ Our main focus will be the Eurasian Pygmy-owl, hiking through a beautiful boreal forest with a local guide. Depending on our sightings, we would possibly do a second hike after that, looking for Bearded Vultures and Golden Eagles, this time on the french side of the Alps.
Day 4 \ The 4th day will be spent entirely in Rémuzat, France. Griffon Vultures, but also potentially Cinereous Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Bearded Vulture, Short-toed Snake-eagle, Common Buzzard, Montagu's Harrier, Peregrine Falcon, and Common Kestrel.
Day 5 \ Starting to drive early in the morning, we will head back to Geneva.
